We handcraft our Fresh Ground Dried Ginger, using Organic Ginger Cuts sourced from India, to ensure purity and quality of our product.
The dried Ginger Cuts are freshly ground, on receipt of your order, to bring out a strong flavour and aroma. This is immediately packed in a recyclable, amber coloured, glass jar, with an airtight induction seal, to maximise freshness of the product – you will get a strong aroma of fresh ground Ginger when you open the jar.
Ginger root is from the family Zingiberaceae and is closely related to Galangal, Turmeric and Cardamom. Ginger roots are a modified underground storage stem called a rhizome and the color varies from pale yellow to white or pink depending on the variety and age. Ginger is native to Asia and has been highly regarded for centuries as a spice in traditional Indian, South East Asian and African cuisines.
Dried Ginger has a warm, slightly sweet and peppery flavour with lemon undertones and pungent aroma. The flavours are concentrated in the dried form. 1 tablespoon of fresh grated Ginger can be substituted by ½ teaspoon of dried Ground Ginger.
Ground Ginger is ideal for using in uncooked dipping sauces, stir-fry dishes, cakes, cookies, and puddings. It can be added to baked dishes, curries, casseroles, marinade, salad dressings, soups stews, and other dishes. Ground Ginger is more easily dispersed in a dish and can withstand higher cooking temperatures without compromising the flavour.

We source Organic Ground Nutmeg from India and pack it in a recyclable, amber coloured, glass jar with an airtight induction seal, on receipt of your order, to maximise freshness.
The Nutmeg tree is indigenous to the Banda Islands (Indonesia). The cover of the Nutmeg nut is used as Mace spice – they are the only spices that come from the same plant.
Ground Nutmeg is a fragrant spice with a piney, spicy, sweet and slightly bitter or nutty flavour. It is used in both savoury and sweet dishes in different cuisines and is very popular in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines. It can be used as a seasoning or a garnish.
Nutmeg powder is used in cakes, cheese/cream sauces, cookies, custards, eggs, soups, stews, fruit pies, pastas, vegetable dishes or as a fragrant garnish for beverages (coffee to cocktails). A touch of Ground Nutmeg is wonderful in homemade macaroni cheese. Ground Nutmeg is popular as a garnish for eggnog, seasoning in haggis (national dish of Scotland), French toast, béchamel sauce, Greek moussaka. It pairs well with beans, broccoli, butternut squash, eggplant, onions, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and tomatoes.
