We handcraft our Stoneground Green Cardamom Seed, using Organic Green Cardamom Seed sourced from India, to ensure purity and quality of our product. Our freshly Stoneground Cardamom is made from Green Cardamom Seeds and does not contain the fibrous pod material.
Green Cardamom Seed is freshly stoneground, on receipt of your order, to bring out an intense and sweet aroma. Stoneground spices have a naturally uneven, earthy texture that adds a rustic mouth feel. This is immediately packed in a recyclable, amber coloured, glass jar, with an airtight induction seal, to maximise freshness of the product – you will get a strong aroma of fresh ground Cardamom when you open the jar.
Green Cardamom belongs to the Zingiberaceae family, as are Turmeric and Ginger, and is native to India and Sri Lanka. Green Cardamom Pod is bright green in colour with approximately 10 to 12 tiny dark-brown sticky seeds inside. Green Cardamom has a rich and complex flavour – slightly sweet, warm, exotic floral and spicy flavour with citrus undertones and a strong pungent aroma. Green Cardamoms are popular in Indian, Middle Eastern and Scandinavian cooking.
Green Cardamom enhances both savoury and sweet flavours and compliments both meat and vegetables. Ground Cardamom is used in recipes where whole pods or seeds are undesirable. Freshly Stoneground Cardamom is strong and should be used sparingly. About 8 Green Cardamom Pod Seeds produce one teaspoon of Stoneground Cardamom.
Ground Cardamom is used as savoury flavouring in casseroles, chicken, curries, pastries, pâtés, pies, purées, rice, sauces, soups, stews and with meats, seafood and vegetables. For sweet flavoring it is used in apple pie, custard, ice cream, rice pudding or sprinkle them over a fresh fruit salad. Cardamom can also be added to beverages for aromatic fragrance. Green Cardamom pairs well with apples, oranges, pears, sweet potatoes.

The Cinnamon quilling is freshly stoneground, on receipt of your order, to bring out an intense and sweet aroma. Stoneground spices have a naturally uneven, earthy texture that adds a rustic mouth feel. This is immediately packed in a recyclable, amber coloured, glass jar, with an airtight induction seal, to maximise freshness of the product – you will get a strong aroma of fresh ground Cinnamon when you open the jar.
Cinnamon (true verum) also called Ceylon cinnamon sticks come from the inner bark of a tropical tree and have a delicate, sweet, woody, aromatic fragrance.
